I'm not a beer connaisseur but I know what I like. Usually I will take a mixed drink over a beer anyday. I tended to like a lot of the European beers I had but Portland has a higher concentration of quality beers here. Several months ago, I went with some friends to a concert in small town Washington where we went to a bar and my only choices were bud, coors or miller. It's not really a choice at that point because it's all crap.

Today I had an IPA that I actually enjoyed called Wolavers. I might have had it offered to me a dozen times before but I normally stray away from IPA so this was something new for me. However, it won't replace my hot cocoa and peppermint schnapps as my drink of choice.
